Network Monitoring
Tools To Simplify Broadcast News Editing
You know how you have to make a placeholder for the story on INews and then double enter the data into the news editor. Look at what a mess this is:
No more!!!! The MTD Tool simplifys the process and removes the possibility of error:
This is a software add-in for Gass Valley Group and Avid iNews newsroom systems. It greatly improves the ability to add a video clip ‘place holder’ to the iNews scripting system. Get MTD’s INews-GVG Toolset call Dave Tansek at MTDSystems: 408-629-9084.
This tool is made for GVG/INews systems but if you have anyone’s system where the interoperability is less than optimum MTD can help.
MTD Systems Network Monitoring Overview
This blog is about network monitoring of Digital Cinema, Satellite, and Broadcast systems. There is a lot of information here but if you go the the main site it shows a web browser based network monitor that is optimised for video based systems. There is an overview video on YouTube.
They also monitor Broadcast Transmitters.
Push/Pull Network Monitoring
I’m enamored of Network Monitoring Systems. In this blog I’ll discuss some of the techniques and methods.
Network Monitoring Systems uses a variety of means to collect information from monitored systems: active polling known as ‘pull’ technology as well as traps, syslog and other types of ‘push’ information. Combining push and pull methods combine to bring effective network monitoring. These combined with smart alerting and a graphical control panel allows an unmatched view into your system.
The combination of the fault or push and pull network monitoring allows an administrator to have a much more holistic view of the network. Advanced systems can do event correlation to match some of these real-time faults and SNMP traps with data collected from the polling engines, and then real-life business decisions can be made.
Look in on us again, there will be more here soon.
